Bedford Church of the Nazarene is a group of ordinary people. We’re just like you - young and old, rich and poor, singles and couples. Every one of us has made choices we aren’t proud of and wish that mistakes could be undone. The truth is, we aren’t perfect, but we have found a perfect love. Each one of us has found forgiveness, freedom, and hope through the undeserved mercy of Jesus Christ. It’s our greatest passion for you to discover Him for yourself. So, if you’re looking for a place where you belong - to ask questions, face your doubts, find comfort - join us online or in person. We cannot wait to meet you!
“TO ME, YOU ARE VERY DEAR, AND I LOVE YOU.”
~GOD (ISAIAH 43:4)
Our church has been a part of the Bedford community since 1937. Despite the location changing through the years, our foundational beliefs remain the same. At our core, we believe that every human has sinned and, through that sin, has separated themselves from God. In His infinite mercy, God chose to create a way back to the relationship we once shared with Him. The awe-inspiring truth is that God chose to chase after you! He sent His Son, Jesus Christ – fully God and fully man – as a living example of a life lived the right way. Then, in the ultimate example of love, Jesus chose to give His own life as the payment for our wrongs – every one of them. He loved and accepted you before you even knew He existed! There is no one that has done too much or gone too far for God to save. All you need to do is believe in Him and give Him control of your life.
If you would like to talk to someone more about your questions concerning the Christian faith, to receive prayer support regarding personal difficulties, or about your decision to follow Jesus, please call or email us. “’EVEN NOW,’ SAYS THE LORD, ‘REPENT SINCERELY AND RETURN TO ME. LET YOUR BROKEN HEART SHOW YOUR SORROW. COME BACK TO THE LORD YOUR GOD. HE IS KIND AND FULL OF MERCY; HE IS PATIENT AND KEEPS HIS PROMISE; HE IS ALWAYS READY TO FORGIVE.’”
(SECTIONS OF JOEL 2:12-14)
The truth is, Bedford Church of the Nazarene is a family who enjoys experiencing life together. We take every opportunity to learn more about God and find our purpose in loving people the way Jesus taught us – through actions as well as words. We are a group of simple, ordinary people on this journey together. Bedford isn’t just where our church is, it’s where our heart is. We love finding new ways to help the people, families, and businesses within Bedford and its surrounding areas. From in-home visits with Bedford’s elderly community members to surprise meals for Bedford’s front-line workers, we love making you smile and reminding each of you how special you are to God!
“NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN GOD. BUT IF WE LOVE EACH OTHER, GOD LIVES IN US. IF WE LOVE EACHOTHER, GOD’S LOVE HAS REACHED ITS GOAL – IT IS MADE PERFECT IN US.”
(1 JOHN 4:12)
We wholeheartedly believe in the healing power of prayer. Not because we’re told to, but because we have personally witnessed the life-changing effects of prayer – both for the one praying and the people being prayed for. When Jesus walked this earth, he dealt with the same struggles and hardships we face every day. He chose to experience them, not because He was previously ignorant of our sufferings, but so we could fully know that He knows, absolutely, the height of the mountains He promises to move. And when those impossibly high mountains move, we might better understand the size of our God. Whatever challenge you are facing; we are here to support you however we can. Whatever your need, you can trust us to join with you in asking God for help and guidance. We hope you always feel comfortable talking to a member of our staff; however, should you prefer your struggle remains private, our prayer request forms allow you to ask for help anonymously.
“I WILL CALL TO GOD FOR HELP, AND THE LORD WILL SAVE ME. I SPEAK TO GOD MORNING, NOON, AND NIGHT. I TELL HIM WHAT UPSETS ME, AND HE LISTENS TO ME! HE HAS ALWAYS RESCUED ME AND BROUGHT ME BACK SAFELY.” (SECTIONS OF PSALMS 55:16-18)
Individually and collectively, we have a deep desire to understand the answers to life’s biggest questions. For example: What are we here for? Why do bad things happen to good people? Who is God, and does He really care about me? This is why we gather together each Sunday to study the Scriptures and what they tell us about the relationship between a holy God and His wayward people. We invite you to join us Sundays at 9:00 am in person, on Facebook live, or email us to be added to our Zoom Room invitation list.
“THE BELIEVERS SHARED A COMMON PURPOSE, AND EVERY DAY THEY SPENT MUCH OF THEIR TIME TOGETHER IN THE TEMPLE AREA. THEY ALSO ATE TOGETHER IN THEIR HOMES. THEY WERE HAPPY TO SHARE THEIR FOOD AND ATE WITH JOYFUL HEARTS.” (ACTS 2:46)
